The Supreme Court rejected Elstein’s appeal of the decision to approve the sale of the controlling shares in Discount Investment Corp Ltd
Attorneys Raanan Kalir and Alon Binyamini have duly been appointed as receivers for the controlling shares in Discount Investment Corp Ltd (“DIC”), having received the approval of the Tel Aviv-Yafo District Court last November to sell these shares for NIS 950 million.
That decision had been contested by the previous controlling shareholder, Eduardo Elsztain, mainly on the grounds that the transaction contravenes the provisions of The Centralization Law. The Supreme Court rejected Elsztain’s appeal in early February and accepted the receivers’ position that this was not an illegal transaction.
