The firm has been involved over the years in significant and important precedents set by the Supreme Court. Thus, for example, the firm represented a precedent-setting case in which important rules were made in the field of corporate law, inter alia with regard to the separation of shareholders in private companies (Adler v. Livnat); A case in the field of corporations, in which an important rule was established regarding the applicability of the business judgment rule to the company’s board of directors (Menashe v. Vision); A case in which basic laws in the field of company law and securities were established (Shapira v. Dexia Bank); A case in which the Supreme Court has made important rulings in the field of class actions, which are cited in many judgments in this field (Shemesh v. Reichert); one of the most significant cases ever litigated in the Supreme Court in the field of freedom of speech and investigative press, in which precedent-setting laws were ruled (Ilana Dayan v. Captain R.); and more.

Representative Experience

  • Representing one of the leading international German corporation in its field in ICC arbitration before a tribunal of three arbitrators, in a lawsuit in an amount of hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Representing of the Ukrainian bank PrivatBank in a lawsuit in the amount of more than NIS 2 billion against the executives of the former bank and against Discount Bank.
  • Representing the controlling shareholders and officers in the IDB Group in five different applications for approval of derivative claims, in an amount of more than NIS 2 billion.
  • Representing Gad Zeevi in ​​a huge lawsuit for a total of about NIS 1 billion, against eight banks.
  • Representing Moti Ben Moshe in an arbitration in connection with control of the IDB Group in the amount of approximately NIS 1 billion.
  • Representing Bank Mizrahi Tefahot, Israel’s third-largest bank, in its acquisition of Bank Igud Ltd. (TASE: UNON), the sixth-largest bank in Israel. The merger was initially rejected by the Israeli Competition Authority (“ICA”) and we successfully appealed before the Israeli Competition Tribunal.
  • Representing Bank Hapoalim in relation to Mordechai Zisser’s assets and his debt to the bank, which amounted to more than NIS 1.5 billion.
  • Advising the Board of Directors of the Israeli Electric Corporation (IEC) in a dispute with Egyptian gas companies, involving an arbitral award of over USD 2.3 billion in favor of the IEC, and significant difficulties in collecting that award.
  • Representing Bezeq in an action that was filed by Cellcom Communication Ltd. The District court accepted Bezeq’s arguments and rejected Cellcom’s claim.
  • Representing Israel’s largest cement manufacturer, Nesher – Israel Cement Enterprises Ltd., in a litigation for over NIS 2 billion.
  • Representing Israel Chemicals Ltd. (“ICL”) and its subsidiaries (Dead Sea Works and Mifalei Tovala) in several lawsuits.
  • Representing the Itzhaki Group in a claim filed against it by the Israeli Real Estate Authority for NIS 175 million and a counter-claim for over NIS 500 million.
  • Representing Sabre Corporation, a U.S-based provider of global distribution system (GDS) for airlines and travel agencies, in a dispute brought by travel agencies alleging Sabre colluded with British Airways to block flight data.
  • Advising the TV show UVDA, and Keshet Broadcasting Ltd. in a high profile defamation claim that was filed in the UK against the defendants and others by the known business intelligence firm Black Cube.
