Data regulation has expanded in recent years and has set complex standards in the field of privacy and data protection. The Privacy and Data Protection department provides our clients comprehensive legal service in the areas of technology, privacy risk management, research and development, including complex technological applications that combine information processing, online and SaaS service operations and technological products. In doing so, we help our clients navigate safely between the regulatory worlds of privacy protection, information management and cyber security.
Our firm has significant experience consulting in the fields of privacy and data protection law, among other things within the framework of M&A and investment transactions, commercial agreements, compliance surveys and risks. We advise managers and entrepreneurs regarding privacy by design. In addition, we advise managers in aspects of corporate governance in data management, and compliance with advanced regulations such as the GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA.
Our firm also has unique knowledge in the areas of medical information processing using medical devices, information management systems and clinical studies.
Representative Experience
- Representing one of the largest retail giants in the world as part of an acquisition of an Israeli company in the field of remote/ online clothing. In this framework, we performed an in-depth analysis of the aspects of data and privacy protection, in collaboration with a reputable American firm.
- Representing the Hellman & Friedman private equity in the acquisition of Checkmarx for USD 1.15 billion, in addition to leading the due diligence of cyber, information protection and privacy regulations.
- Advising one of the largest health companies in the world as part of its extensive activities in Israel, including a number of companies in the fields of medical devices, AI research, clinical trials and more.
- Representing On an ongoing basis an Israeli public company that operates in more than 80 countries in the field of global privacy. Among other things, we advise the company on the implementation of new technologies and the management of personal information at the organizational level.
- Advising an Israeli insurance company regarding the current aspects of privacy, and reduction of the organization’s privacy risks, both internally and vis-à-vis the insured.
- Representing one of the largest companies in the market before the Privacy Protection Authority in connection with an administrative proceeding regarding an allegedly serious information security incident.
