Labor Law Client Update – Surveillance cameras at the workplace – a new directive of the Authority for the Protection of Privacy
The Authority for the Protection of Privacy published a new directive which deals with the use of surveillance cameras installed at the workplace (the “Directive”). As the use of surveillance cameras raises many issues regarding privacy, this Directive joins previous rulings of the Israeli Labor courts with respect to the balance between the employer’s right to monitor employees during work, and the employees’ right for privacy.
EBN’s Labor Law department issued a client update which summarizes the employer’s obligations which arise from the Directive (Hebrew).
As always, we will be happy to assist you in clarifying these matters in our consultation.
