Be familiar with the new consumer protective legislation – a “do not call me” database

A database to reduce telemarketing phone calls from sellers to consumers who are interested in limiting the number of unsolicited telemarketing calls they receive, is expected to be established in the upcoming months. Under the directions of the new legislation, a seller or anyone on its behalf will not be allowed to call a consumer that his telephone number is registered on the database. We recommend our clients to guide relevant marketing personnel regarding the directions which relate to the database and their application.
